Dr. Orjioke is a board-certified Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine specialist. She is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. She is committed to providing excellent care to the patients that she is privileged to come into contact with. Her goal is to use evidenced based best practices to optimize clinical outcomes in all her patients.
Ngozika Orjioke, as a child traveled the world with her family, which is probably why she is able to deliver culturally sensitive care to her diverse patient population. She graduated high school from Trinity School, a boarding co-ed school in South Devon in England. The following six years were spent obtaining a medical degree from the College of Medical sciences in Calabar, Cross River state in Nigeria.
A mandatory rotating internship was spent in Eko hospitals, Ikeja Lagos. She worked as a medical officer at Eko hospitals, Lagoon hospital in Lagos and Goulburn Valley Health Hospital Emergency Room and ICU in Shepparton, Australia.
Her residency in Internal medicine was at St Joseph hospital, Chicago, Illinois. She served as chief resident and then pursued a fellowship in Pulmonary Critical care medicine at Los Angeles County-University of Southern California. Once again, she was honored with the position of Chief fellow.
She is volunteer faculty with the Graduate Medical Education program at Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center and serves as the Medical Director of Select Specialty Long Term Acute Care Hospital-Northeast campus, Atlanta.
She has a passion to change the face of health care in Sub-Saharan Africa and believes that education is instrumental in initiating that change.
She is married with five beautiful children. She hopes to visit all 50 states by age 50 and run a marathon.
